As a little girl, I remember the first time I held a piglet. We were at a local car garage that also had a pig barn. From that moment on, I was smitten.

A few years later, my parents finally gave in and let me raise the family butcher hogs. I even wrote up a 'very official' contract promising to provide all their care. I always said I’d have a pig farm one day, and now, here we are living the dream! It looks a bit different than I imagined as a child, but seeing those pigs out in the pastures has added so much color to the vision I always had.

Rhonda and Ella had piglets this past weekend. These sows are doing a fantastic job taking care of their piglets!

This dinner was delicious Leg Quarters baked in the oven with lemon, salt, pepper, garlic powder, thyme and butter.
Crispy skin, flavorful and nutritious.

The kids are great at taking care of the chickens—watering, feeding, and cleaning the coop. They are a big part of it, but their favorite part is collecting eggs, of course!
