Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸

Today, we're grateful for the farmers who raise it, the land that grows it, and the community that shows up to support local, week after week. Wishing you a relaxing holiday filled with good food and good company.

The U.S. is on track to import a record 6.1 billion pounds of beef this year, a 14% jump from last year. Almost 80% of it comes from just five countries: Brazil, Australia, Canada, Mexico, and New Zealand. 🌍

When your beef travels that far, "where did this come from?" doesn't carry much meaning.

That's why we keep it simple. Show Me Pastures only sells beef from Oaklee Rose Farm and Horstmann Cattle Co. Both are within 100 miles of St. Louis, both locally owned, and both raise cattle with regenerative agriculture. Keeping the environment and your family front of mind. Know your farmer, know your food. 🐮

Importing more foreign beef may create temporary relief at the grocery store, but it won’t fix the real problem.

America’s cattle herd is near historic lows. Rebuilding it requires ranchers to retain heifers, which means fewer cattle entering the beef supply today so we can produce more beef in the future.

That process takes years—not weeks.

Increasing imports might add short-term supply, but it could also weaken the prices received by the same American producers we need to rebuild the herd.

There is no overnight fix. If we want a dependable domestic food supply, we must support American farmers and ranchers through the rebuilding process.

Know your farmer. Know your food. Support local beef.

All the rain we've had has sent the grass into overdrive, and the pastures have never looked better. We're talking chest-high, thick, green grazing heaven.

Honestly, it's gotten to the point where we're doing a headcount when moving the cows just to make sure no one has disappeared into the grass entirely. We'll let you know if we find them all. 🐮🌾

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Show Me Pastures.

Today we’re thankful for the dads, grandpas, and father figures who taught us the value of hard work, integrity, and caring for the land.

Whether you’re raising a family, raising livestock, or both, your impact reaches far beyond what you can see today.

Here’s to the men who show up every day, lead by example, and leave things better than they found them.

Happy Father’s Day. 🇺🇸🌱

This purple coneflower is one of many native plants that thrive in healthy pasture ecosystems.

Native flowers like these provide food and habitat for pollinators, improve biodiversity, and help create resilient landscapes that benefit both wildlife and livestock.

When we talk about regenerative agriculture, it’s not just about raising cattle—it’s about stewarding the entire ecosystem.

Healthy soil. Healthy pastures. Healthy food.
