Lately I’ve (Meagan) been feeling the energy shift as we step into another transition, back to school, back to routines, back to a rhythm that grounds us after the wide-open days of summer.
Any other year, I’d already be pulling out the fall decorations, planning crockpot meals, and leaning fully into cozy season. But this year feels different. Our oldest daughter graduated from high school, and there’s a very real chance that this was her last summer living full-time under our roof. When I sit with that, I feel all the feels…gratitude, tenderness, and the ache of change.
It’s so easy to rush to the next thing, the next season, the next milestone, the next “to-do.” But this shift from summer to late summer reminds me to simply be here. To savor the garden heavy with fruit, and flowers, the golden light, the laughter around the table, and even this breath.
This season whispers: there is no need to rush. There is peace and plenty right here, in this moment, in this life.
