Beef for Sale - Specializing in Pineywoods Cattle

The first ancestors of Pineywoods Cattle were brought to the Americas by conquistadors in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. This heritage breed is known for being extremely tender and richly flavored.

We now have our first beef for sale that was born and raised right here on our farm. The meat was processed, packaged and frozen in a USDA inspected facility.

It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing our temporary suspension of our participation in the Forysth Farmer's Market. We have enjoyed meeting our new and loyal customers in Savannah. Please keep an eye out, as we will announce ways to continue enjoying our products through other vendors in the area. Thanks for the fond memories.

This is why Georgia is so hard to grow in. The temperature fluctuations confuse plants. We have some peaches flowering now and other plants may flower by the weekend, with all this warm weather. This 26 degree forecast is a big problem for farmers. We had a game plan for the plum curcullio this year, but the weather is much harder to manage.

Did you know that spices may be contaminated with lead? Unfortunately, yes, but there is good news.

Recently, Consumer Reports tested 126 spices, including basil, coriander, black pepper, cumin, turmeric, and chili powder, in 15 categories, for arsenic, lead, and cadmium.

Bad news:

40 tested products had high enough levels of arsenic, lead, and cadmium combined to pose a health threat to children when consumed regularly in typical serving sizes.
31 products had levels of lead that were so high that they exceeded the maximum amount anyone should have in a day.
All brands of thyme and oregano had some heavy metals.

Good news:

Normally, black pepper, coriander, curry powder, garlic powder, saffron, sesame seeds, and white pepper aren’t contaminated with heavy metals.
If you eat a lot of thyme and oregano, you can grow your own thyme and oregano in the soil tested for heavy metals and water them with filtered water.
