Stop by to see Lili’s Sugar Rush with all kinds of delicious baked goods, Rogue Wolf Fabrication with a bunch of different artistic handcrafted metal signs, and White Tree Farm of North Carolina with all different flavors of goat cheese and most recently goat cheese cheesecake slices. Afternoon everyone, we will be at Fort Dobbs State Historic Site this Saturday the 28th for our market. We are working hard to try and make this a good market for the community. If anyone is interested in being a vendor please reach out. White Tree Farm of North Carolina, Rogue Wolf Fabrication, and Lillian’s Sweet Tooth will be there with goat cheese, some amazing metal sign designs, and delicious baked goods. Please stop by and see us and we will continue to work on getting more vendors involved so that everyone is able to find a little something they need. A new temporary exhibit has been installed in our visitor center and will be up through June!

Using a mix of authentic relics and replica items, the exhibit explains the importance of trade between colonists and American Indians in the Carolina backcountry in the 1750s, calling particular attention to occasions when American Indians visited the fort, both as friends and as enemies.

The centerpiece is a rare example of a brass trade ring. Kevin Andersen loaned the ring to the historic site, having recovered it with permission on an adjoining piece of property. The ring is of a style consistent with European-produced rings that were traded to American Indians.
