This sounds incredible!

We’re opening for the 2026 season next Friday, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to the Julia A. Purnell Museum. As we reopen our doors, we’re celebrating not only a new year of exhibits and programs, but also the stories held in our collection — the pieces that connect Snow Hill and Worcester County’s past to its present.
This season brings so much to look forward to: expanded exhibits, monthly rotating local artist shows, fiber arts classes and workshops for children and adults, fun hands‑on learning opportunities for kids, new exhibitions in development — and so much more. We’re excited to share all of this with visitors from across Worcester County and beyond.

Hours: Thurs–Sat • 10–4 Sundays • 1–4

Free fun & environmental action: 7th annual Bay Day in Ocean Pines

(April 10, 2026) In the latest episode of the Ocean Pines Association's exclusive podcast, Pinescast, we sit down with Liz Wist and Ellen Turnbaugh from the Maryland Coastal Bays Program to discuss the upcoming 7th annual Bay Day, happening May 17 at White Horse Park in Ocean Pines.

This large-scale environmental festival, which is completely free and open to the public, is dedicated to celebrating the coastal watershed and providing families with tools to protect their local environment. The event features free boat rides, live music and food, interactive exhibitors, a native plant giveaway, exploration station, and so much more.

They have welcomed 7 piglets & 5 lambs this year.

2025 Biggest Takeaway - Trust your own timeline.

We accomplished so many firsts this year. I had too many favorite photos for this reel.

✔️ Bought a farm van!
✔️ Built sheep infrastructure & welcomed 5 sheep!
✔️ Hatched guinea fowl - first on farm births!
✔️ Built infrastructure, welcomed laying hens, & harvested our first eggs!
✔️ Raised & harvested our first round chicken & pork.
✔️ Hosted our first Plant Sale!
✔️ Connected with our community at markets!
✔️ Grew a bunch of Sage, Rosemary, Basil, Zinnia, Marigold, Sunflower, Tatsoi, Kale, Luffa, & Turnip - our first Watermelon!
✔️ Planted perennials in our Orchard!
✔️ Welcomed our first barn cats!
✔️ Connected more with nature, our food, & our health!

So grateful for all the new friends, animals, lessons, & moments we have had this year.

We love experiencing what Underwood Acres is becoming & are excited to see the progress we make next year, at a pace that feels perfectly attuned to us!
