Good time with Josh from SoPo seafood with a retail store in South Portland and packing and distribution done at their receiving location on the Portland waterfront. Andy from Maine Aquaculture Association was also there to put something together for The Maine Farmed Seafood Coalition to talk about how SoPo helps connect Maine fishermen and farmers with their customers! I call it advertising without a budget!
Yesterday we welcomed the Maine Farmed Seafood Coalition to our Portland wharf to talk about how SoPo Seafood helps connect Maine farmed seafood with our customers.
Maine scallop farming pioneer Marsden Brewer PenBay Farmed Scallops was dropping off his live scallops at the same time, so it felt like the perfect opportunity to include him in the video as well. Marsden is pictured here.
We asked Marsden what makes his sea scallops special, how long they take to farm, his favorite ways to prepare them, and more. We’ll be sharing that video soon, so stay tuned.
Marsden harvests his scallops every Wednesday morning and drives them straight to our wharf in Portland.
If you’d like to try them, you can order them on our website for overnight delivery. Orders must be placed by 3 PM Tuesday so we can give Marsden the order for Thursday or Friday delivery.
You can also enjoy them at the SoPo Raw Bar on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
We offer them wholesale too.
Proud to help share the story of Maine farmed seafood and the people behind it.
