Explore the Stowe Farmers Market with a local chef this summer!
Experience first-hand how chefs approach a farmers market and how they’re inspired by local, seasonal ingredients.
This tour will highlight the wide variety of food producers at the Stowe market including; produce, mushrooms, fruit, herbs, preserves, fish, meat, eggs and more.
Tour participants will have the opportunity to interact with their chef guide and market vendors, and will take home recipe cards so they can enjoy cooking the seasonal locally-grown ingredients highlighted that day.
July 26th | Chef Ryan Aldrich
Ryan Aldrich is the chef-owner at City Roots VT and the Food Director and Chef at the Mountain Village School in Stowe. Ryan grew up in central VT, trained at the New England Culinary Institute, and cooked in multiple Michelin-starred kitchens in New York for over 17 years.
August 23rd | Chef Suzanne Podhaizer
Suzanne Podhaizer is an award-winning food writer as well as a chef, farmer, recipe developer and teacher for cooks of all ages. Suzanne helped launch the Seven Days newspaper food section in 2006; owned and cooked at Salt, a 26-seat, farm-to-table restaurant in Montpelier; partnered in a goose farm and a cooperative wood-fired pizza company; and spent a summer as the Vermont State Parks Campfire Chef.
August 30th | Chef Megan Chacosky
Megan is a dietician and traveling performance chef for the US Ski and Biathlon team. Megan has the unique skills and knowledge to effectively incorporate sport-specific dietetic principles into homemade meals for traveling on the road. Megan has worked with 18 different US Olympic sports, and currently works with athletes at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
Each tour will run approximately one hour from 10am-11am, meet at the cow print market manager’s tent at the Stowe Market at Top Notch fields.
