Did you know that fresh, local produce from the Sturgeon Bay Farmers Market can continue to nourish our community even after the market closes?

Gleaning is the process of collecting fresh fruits, vegetables, and other edible items that vendors are unable to sell at the end of the market day. Instead of letting this perfectly good food go to waste, the Door County Food Rescue Program collects from generous vendors and donates it to Lakeshore CAP, where it is distributed to neighbors and families experiencing food insecurity throughout Door County.

In addition to exchanging FoodShare at the Sturgeon Bay Farmers Market, our internal program partners Live Well Door County and the Door County Partnership for Children and Families are offering PLAY TIME BLVD! This is a space for families to play with blocks, paint a rock, make a bracelet, chalk art, practice those hop scotch skills and more! Check them out in front of the Door County Fire Company every Saturday from 8am - 12 noon!

We keep getting asked the same question... "Is the Sturgeon Bay Farmers Market still happening on Saturday, July 4th?" The answer is... YES!! ABSOLUTELY!! 🎉

We'll be open from 8am to Noon, and we have a feeling this is going to be a BIG market! If you're hoping to snag the freshest produce, baked goods, flowers, and local favorites, we definitely recommend getting here early. We are SO excited and can't wait to kick off an amazing Fourth of July weekend with all of you! See you Saturday! ❤️🤍💙🌻
