The American Legion Farmers Market

Located at 2 South Artillery Drive, at the Sumter Fairgrounds, the American Legion Farmers Market is a year-round, indoor market for farmers and local artisans to sell their products to the Sumter community and beyond. The goods sold must be locally grown, raised or created by the vendor. It is not a venue for selling franchised or multi-level marketing items. The main purpose is to support local farmers by providing a place to sell their produce. The other purposes are to give the public access to healthy, fresh fruits and vegetables and to support the local economy by keeping local money in the community. The other aspect of the market is the social benefit of neighbors supporting neighbors and interacting often to create the feel of a close knit community.
