Sharon has officially retired!
As we sorted through papers today, we found a very timely quote from Sharon from a 2005 interview upon opening Hometown Variety: “Be involved and support the town and the town will support you”. Thank you for supporting us over the last 29 years, it was a great privilege to serve you and your families.
To our friends and family who helped us move on Sunday, thank you. You mean the world to us, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
To all of our employees over the years, thank you for your loyalty and dedication. Special thanks to our employees Kami, Tammy, Nikalas, and Lorna who stayed to the very end (through the chaos of an inventory reduction sale)!
To my sister Karen, thank you for coming to Iowa for 3 weeks to support me and all of the long hours you put in to help liquidate merchandise.
To Jill Jurgensen, thank you for all of the hours you put in on evenings and weekends to make the last 6 weeks of business a success.
To my husband Dennis, thank you for all of your heavy lifting (literally) and coordinating trucks/trailers when it mattered most.
I will miss all of my customers and serving the town of Sutherland. Thank you for welcoming me into your community and your lives 29 years ago. I am looking forward to retirement and serving the community in other ways!
