Swisher Farmers Market is held weekly and October 1 will be our last market. We do not charge or require a commitment to set up. So if you have a surplus of produce right now you can bring it to the farmers market and sell it.

Apples this week! See you tomorrow!

For the September 3, 2026 Swisher Farmers’ Market, Swisher Apples will have some nice Freyberg, an apple raised in 1934 by J H Kidd at Greytown, Wairarapa, New Zealand, from a Golden Delicious X Cox's Orange Pippin cross. The flesh is white and crisp. It has a sweet and nutty flavour with distinct hints of honey, pear and cinnamon. In the past, this has been a Farmers’ Market favorite.

There will also be some Claygate Pearmain. Claygate Pearmain is a partially russeted apple with various amounts of the skin being affected. The basic color is green which may be overlaid with reds and oranges, more so on the sunny side of the apple. The flesh is firm, coarse, and crisp, very juicy, and sweet, and the flavor is aromatic and complex, with citrus, spice, and tropical notes. This is not a weak flavored variety, it's is most definitely full and rich.

Additionally a few Greensleeves will attend. These are a Golden Delicious x James Grieve cross, known for their crunchy texture and juicy nature. The apples have a balanced flavor of sweet, tangy, and acidic notes and are good for fresh eating, pies, crisps and salads.

Finally, a few more of the curiously named Carolina Red June will be on hand – the flavor slightly more mellow than last week, but still having a nice sharpness that makes them ideal for crisps and pies!
