UPDATED: Sold out for 2025 but taking reservations for 2026!

We have ONE grass-fed, grass-finished steer available yet, going to the locker today! Born and raised on our family ranch in Tabor, SD, and processed at Southside Meats in Avon, SD. Meeting partway/ delivery a possible option depending on location.
Each cow and calf is affectionately named and petted which we think MUST add to the amazing flavor, but could also be that we practice rotational grazing which is healthy for the land, too! They graze year-round on what we like to call a salad bar: several grass varieties, clovers, collards, buckwheat, chicory, millet, turnips, kale, and alfalfa-- just to name a few! Absolutely no grains, antibiotics, or hormones used EVER. Limited supply :-).

GRASS-FED-AND-FINISHED BEEF NOW AVAILABLE!!
Born and raised here on the prairies of South Dakota, our beef is exactly what it should be—organic, fresh, healthy, and delicious!! We have the customary halves and quarters for sale as well as the very popular Beef Variety Pack. For those who are looking for smaller quantities of meat, The Beef Variety Pack averages about 60 pounds of various roasts, steaks, and ground. Each cow is affectionately named and petted which we think MUST add to the amazing flavor, but it could also be that we practice rotational grazing, which is healthy for the land too! They graze on what we like to call a salad bar: several grass varieties, clovers, collards, buckwheat, chicory, millet, turnips, kale, and alfalfa, just to name a few! But equally as important, our animals are FINISHED on grass. Grass-fed beef is proven to contain more nutrients than grain-fed beef, the most prominent being CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) which is considered one of the strongest nutrients to defend against degenerative disease. Grass-fed beef provides up to six times more omega-3 fatty acids which aid the body against inflammation, ADHD, and depression. Many farmers, even some grass-fed farms, add corn or other grain to the cow's diet a few weeks before slaughter. This puts extra fat on the cow and in the meat but unfortunately, the vital nutrients that make grass-fed beef so incredible are lost in just the short time grain was added to their diet. The meat becomes acidic and although tasty, it’s void of the extra nutrition that is so important. We intentionally “finish” our animals on grass to preserve the quality and in the end have a product the way God intended, delicious AND nutritious!
MESSAGE US TO RESERVE YOUR GRASS-FED, GRASS-FINISHED BEEF TODAY!!😃

A highlight for our family is when the first spring calf is born! In 2021 we decided to name the calves with "A" names, so this year its "B". The kids named this little guy Bryant (after a favorite cousin-- its an honor Bryant, really!!) and he was born in the blizzard 2 days ago. He is doing great exploring the pasture, giving Mama Suzette no time to relax ;-). This was Suzette's first calf and she is an alert and protective mother. We can't get enough of his energy and cuteness, and visit him everyday!

The industrial food system is NOT designed to feed the world; its primary goal is to maximize profits. The unintended consequences are cruel and destructive, to animals AND people. Every time we choose small scale, organic and/or local food production over the corporate model we are making a real difference in the community, so support your local farmer--families like us !!! :)

The USDA says its plan shouldn’t affect humane handling, but inspectors say cruelty is tied to pace.

Super simple homemade sunscreen!

Eek! A reader just wrote to ask if there is another place to buy non-nano zinc for this homemade sunscreen recipe. Apparently the word is out about nanoparticles accelerating aging and skin cancer, and the supplier I recommended is sold out.

This is a reputable company which lists their zinc as non-nano if you're looking --> http://www.camdengrey.com/essential-oils/zinc-oxide-powder.html

Need the recipe for homemade sunscreen? You can get it here --> http://www.mommypotamus.com/how-to-make-non-toxic-homemade-sunscreen/

Healthy fudge so easy your kids can make it! Or atleast help...or atleast think they're helping :p Recipe below...
One of my greatest aspirations as a mom is to LET THE LITTLE KIDS HELP. They just want to be a part, and there's not much soap and water can't fix :)

My favorite thing about this recipe is all the coconut oil. A perfect way to get in your daily dose if you have a hard time eating it plain!
1 cup coconut oil
1 cup honey
1 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups soaked/dried almonds, chopped

Blend all ingredients in food processor, pour into pan (lined with parchment paper for easy removal), and refrigerate until solid. Yum!

Only a few hours left to be able to hear an incredible, eye-opening discussion on GMO's! Its only an hour long, you need to hear these facts!

Su***de Seeds

In India, Monsanto promised cotton farmers huge production increases with their GMO seeds. When crop after crop failed, these farmers committed su***de to avoid the shame of not being able to pay back their debtors.

To date, the death toll is 200,000.

If you've never heard Jeffrey Smith speak, prepare yourself to be outraged and inspired. He's covering the dangers of GMOs, how scientists manipulate data to hide their effects, and how to protect your family.

My son, James, has been teaching us about these same things. He's working on a food forest in our suburban yard; it may take a while, but he's got the right idea.

It's interesting when Monsanto stops serving GMOs in their own cafeterias...

If I told you that there was a poison, let’s say, strychnine, for example, that you could ingest in teeny tiny minuscule doses and live to tell the tale, would you do it?
