With everyone stocking up, we are getting low on containers and would love to recoup some of our empties.

Specifically quart and pint sized mason jars and half gallon.

If you live in North or Central Tacoma, UP or Fircrest, we may be able to pick them up. Send us a message here or email [email protected] and we can coordinate.

If you are able to drop them off at La Paloma or Wild Hare this week, that is also awesome. Please just shoot us a DM if you are dropping them off so we know there are containers to collect.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We love and appreciate donated jars, but can only take 16oz (pint) or 32oz (quart) that are clean and free of labels. We don’t have the capacity to remove labels from food jars and we can’t use odd sizes currently.

TL;DR - We are pausing operations for several weeks to prepare to sell The Soap Refillery. You can, and we hope you will, place orders by midnight June 30. There will be an automatic 10% discount applied at checkout, even on sale items.

Hey there, Soap Refillery community!
I want to share some exciting news and give you a heads-up about an upcoming change. As many of you know, I put the word out at the end of January that I was looking for the right folks to take ownership of The Soap Refillery. I’m so pleased about the interest we’ve had and feel confident that the business we built will live on, however I need some time to make it happen.

Over the past months, juggling a full-time job with a long commute, taking care of two school-age kids, and running this business has been an adventure to say the least. However, it has left me with no time to focus on preparing The Soap Refillery for sale and working closely with potential buyers. I believe it's essential to dedicate some uninterrupted time to get everything in order, and that's why we'll be pausing our operations for the next several weeks.

You can continue to place orders on our website (link in profile) until midnight June 30th. I hope you will take this opportunity to stock up and as a token of our appreciation, we're automatically applying a 10% discount at checkout for a little extra savings. We will be grouping orders by area and communicating a delivery and pickup schedule for next week.

Starting July 1st, we'll be taking our temporary break, but we'll be back with fresh updates and exciting news. Keep an eye on our social media and newsletter for any important announcements regarding the sale of the business.

It’s that time again! We’re taking pre-orders for oils and vinegars that come in returnable half gallon glass jugs (Olive oil, Canola Oil, Avocado Oil, etc)

One important note - our price and shipping has gone up, but we decided to keep prices the same for this round of pre-orders. After this, there will be a price increase.

I’m not great at beating around the bush, so I’m going to get to the point pretty quick here.

I’m looking for someone who is interested in taking over The Soap Refillery. This is something I knew I would eventually do after taking a full time job and closing our space at La Paloma. I’ve talked with a couple interested parties, but not the right fit or right timing.

I’m stubbornly refusing to close the doors though, for several reasons. Most importantly, there is a want and need in the community for refillable, low waste, affordable goods. There’s also a lot of blood, sweat and tears, not to mention personal capital, invested. This is a great business with great products and amazing customers, I really want to see it live on and grow. It was the right business for us to start when we did, but a lot has changed and it’s time to pass the torch.

I would love to find someone passionate about zero waste with a vision and an entrepreneurial spirit, who for a very reasonable purchase price, is interested in learning this business and taking ownership. If that might be you, please reach out to discuss.

In the meantime, it’s not goodbye yet and we hope you will continue to support The Soap Refillery. We’ve rescheduled our popup at La Paloma for this coming Saturday. So grab your containers and come stock up! It’s perfectly ok to refill our containers if you have them.

There are a couple things we’re waiting on shipments for, but if we are out of stock on one of these on Sat, no worries! You can leave your container(s) with us, we will fill it, invoice you and leave it for you to pickup at La Paloma or Wild Hare.

Shampoo & Conditioner Bars are available for pre-order in any scent and size you like, not just our 3 stock scents. It's difficult for our small shop to stock all the great options, so we thought it would be fun to give everyone the opportunity to choose from all the available scents or fragrance free.

PLUS We are also introducing Dip's amazing draining soap dishes and a convenient wall mount rack that will keep your bars dry and lasting longer. We’re taking pre-orders for our popular Olive Oil and Canola Oil in returnable glass growlers.

Place your order for pickup or delivery by end of day this Sunday 3/19 and it will be available for pickup at next Thursday. We’ll be in touch with delivery customers about best delivery day next week based on area. When ordering for delivery, please select the delivery option that you would normally.

Reminder Popup Closing 2/9 + Important info on Upcoming Deliveries/Pickups

Just a reminder that it's our last weekend with our sustainable living pop up at (scroll down for current shop hours). We still have lots of your favorite essentials such as, Dip shampoo & conditioner bars, dish blocks (No tox life and Meliora), bamboo toothbrushes (new colors), bamboo floss refills, bamboo/cotton ear buds, dishwasher/oxi pods, hand soap concentrate (makes a gallon!), Swedish dishcloths and lots more.

Also, we are taking time off to visit family - deliveries and pick up orders will not be fulfilled 2/11 through 2/19. Read below so you can get your orders in before we take off. Reach out with any questions by emailing [email protected]

+ Orders placed by 5pm Monday 2/6 in Tacoma/UP/Fircrest will be delivered Tuesday 2/7, including pick up orders for Wild Hare.
+ Orders placed by 5pm Wednesday for Fife, Federal Way, Auburn, Puyallup, will be delivered Thursday 2/9
+ Pickup orders at La Paloma - Get your pickup orders in by 5pm on 2/10. Orders placed between 2/4 and 2/10 will be ready for pickup 2/10 or 2/11.

Hi! I'm Jen, owner of The Soap Refillery. I have not been communicating enough recently and it's time to catch up!

TL;DR - The Soap Refillery is moving to online ordering only with pickup & delivery. Our last day at La Paloma Tacoma is Thurs Feb 9th. WE ARE NOT CLOSING. Keep reading for more details.

To catch you up, I (Jen) took on a full time job back in Dec. With bulk refills being labor intensive, we knew it would not work to have them at La Paloma while I was working for the man Mon-Fri.

Without bulk refills, our popup is not enough to justify space at La Paloma. So Thurs, Feb 9th will be our last day. BUT you will still be able to order online and pick up at La Paloma. We are so grateful to the Alvarado family for sharing their beautiful shop with us these past 6 months. Many of you have been in looking for refills, thank you for being kind to our friends at La Paloma and moving to online ordering. So many of you have been ordering online and we can't thank you enough for your flexibility and support!

Again, WE HAVE NO PLANS TO CLOSE. It's been an honor to help you live more sustainably and we will continue, but sometimes a step back is critical to moving forward. Being a small business owner is both the most difficult and most rewarding thing I've ever done. It's even more challenging with a family. I launched this business with my husband in June 2019 while he had a full time job and I had a part time job. I was turning a passion into a side hustle that I planned to grow. A lot has happened since, including a pandemic, 2 job losses, going all in on a brick & mortar, hustling hard to grow a business that could serve our community & pay our bills while staying committed to our values. While The Soap Refillery is profitable, it's necessary for me to be able to be home with my family more and to earn full time job wages.

Our plan is to continue to provide you with sustainable products via pickup and delivery. It's how we used to do things and if you've only ever been a delivery customer, not much will change for you. Bear with us as we continue to transition and develop future plans. We appreciate you all so much. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions.
