An event supporting sarcoidosis, today in Tar Heel! Beginning at 4:30pm!

“Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that affects multiple organs in the body, but mostly the lungs and lymph glands.

The cause of pulmonary sarcoidosis is unknown. Experts think that bacteria, viruses, or chemicals might trigger the disease. It may also be genetic. This means a person is more likely to develop sarcoidosis if someone his or her close family has it.

Sarcoidosis most often occurs between 20 and 40 years of age, with women being diagnosed more frequently than men. The disease is 10 to 17 times more common in African-Americans than in Caucasians. People of Scandinavian, German, Irish, or Puerto Rican origin are also more prone to the disease.

Sarcoidosis often goes away on its own. Minimal treatment is needed in most cases. For some, it may last for years and lead to organ damage.”

Happy BDAY THUG-E!! I know you’re looking down and watching over us, tell my Gma I said hi, she transitioned on this date in 2008!

Also on this date last year, for no apparent reason we were asked to vacate the building. It still baffles as to why, things were going so great. Fortunately we have another building, our very own—still in TarHeel! Yall said bigger and better doors were going to open—and they have! Ive dwelled on why we were asked to leave in the first place, instead now I’m just grateful we were given the opportunity to start this amazing endeavor providing seafood to the community, meeting old friends and making new ones! So for that I’m thankful and forever indebted. And plans for the new building far exceed my wildest dreams!

We have a huge building and been having hard time finding a reasonable priced architect/engineer to draw up a blueprint. As of this week, I finally believe we’ve found a company to design and draw our blueprint! I’m reviewing the proposal for approval! Once the blueprint has been completed and submitted to Bladen County, we’ll (fingers-crossed) receive our permit to begin renovations! Exciting right!!!?? With that in mind, this project will likely not be completed until end of year.. HOWEVER!!!! Wait a minute before you get disappointed—-I’m looking for a second building to rent until ours is completed!!!

Miss you guys, thank you for your everlasting love and support—-I will keep you updated!

Last but certainly not least, the biggest Thank you goes to my #1 supporter, my husband, I love you!

It’s not goodbye, it’s until we meet again my friend! Thank you for being a rider and taking in this journey blindly with me! I could not have done it without you. We were up at 4-5am going to Apex days before our grand opening to shadow Chris and learn how to operate our market! From day one you were loyal, dedicated, and enthused about working, many days you lifted my spirit when I was overwhelmed. It was YOU that gave Tar Heel Fish house it’s family environment, if someone came in a stranger - they left a friend! You were so relaxed and natural dealing with the public it took so much weight off my shoulders. Thank you for showing me how to skin a catfish — in the sink 😂😂 I promise we’ll have the proper set up next go round! You were and will always be an undeniable and integral part of Tar Heel Fish House and will be eternally missed. Prayers to your family, we love you.
