First-time mama moments 🐮🤎

Chip had some very full udders, so we got her into the squeeze and milked her out to make her more comfortable. We bottled that milk for baby Kona, then once Mom was feeling better, we put Kona back on her to latch and nurse, and he figured it out like a champ. 🍼✨

Now Chip and Kona are both doing great and staying close to the barn for a few more days while we keep an eye on them.

And a fun family milestone: Chip is the first calf born to Mocha and Teddy’s 3rd calf… which officially makes Mocha a grandma now! 🥹🤍

Running around, diving headfirst into the hay, and always stopping for a few pets along the way, our goats keep us laughing every day 💛🐐 While they graze and enjoy the sunshine, they are also helping care for the land by naturally fertilizing the pasture and managing brush as they move.

Life with goats is never boring, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Learn more about our sweet animals here: https://bit.ly/3PWx1Qq

A few moments from life on the ranch lately 🌱🐐 Our pups enjoying the sunshine, goats climbing anything they can find, quiet mornings by the pond, and babydoll sheep grazing their way across the pasture.

There is a lot of hard work behind ranch life, but small moments like these make us feel especially grateful for this land, these animals, and the life we get to build out here. 💛

🐝🍯 The bees at 46 Ranch, cared for by our friends at Sierra Honey Farm, have been busy doing what they do best. The result? Small-batch, golden honey that’s delicious and as local as it gets.

Harvested from hives right here on the ranch, this honey captures the wildflowers, citrus blossoms, and native plants that make our land so special. It’s raw, unfiltered, and full of Central Coast flavor!

You can find it now at the Cambria Nursery and Florist Farmstand 🌸

Meet the newest members of our crew! 🐐🌱 Cha-cha, Chuey, and Chi-chi have officially joined the herd and are settling right into life out on the pasture. They spend their days grazing, exploring, fertilizing the soil, and helping manage the land alongside the rest of our animals.

We are pretty excited to have these three out here with us 💛

Our flock is growing! 🐓🌿

Just a few months ago, 300 of these girls were still tiny chicks, and now they are officially part of the flock. Watching them settle into life out on the pasture has been pretty special, and we could not be more excited to now have 600 hens roaming and living their best life!

Our pasture-raised eggs are gathered by hand each day and available at the Cambria Nursery and Florist Farmstand and Primal House Paso🥚

A spring refresh for the babydoll sheep 🐑✂️🌱

Shearing season is an important part of caring for our flock, especially as the weather starts warming up on the Central Coast. Removing their wool helps keep the sheep cool and comfortable through spring and summer, while also helping prevent overheating and keeping their coats clean and healthy.

Our babydoll sheep did amazing, and by the end of the day they were back out grazing the grass looking just a little lighter for the season!

We are so grateful to Brittany App : App's Photography and Mathew Eng for making the entire experience feel gentle and stress-free for both us and the sheep 💛

600 hens, green pasture, and a whole lot of care 🐓🌱

At 46 Ranch, our pasture-raised hens spend their days outdoors on fresh grass, moving across the ranch in mobile coops that help naturally fertilize and regenerate the soil as they go.

That care shows up in the eggs, from rich golden yolks and strong shells to the fresh flavor people notice right away. But for us, it's about more than eggs. It's about caring for the animals, supporting healthy soil, and building a regenerative system that benefits the animals, the pasture, and the food we grow season after season.

What life on the ranch has looked like lately 🌱🐑🐐🐓 From babydoll sheep and goats out grazing the pasture and happy chickens enjoying the green grass and sunshine, to all the small moments in between that fill our days.

It takes hard work to care for this land and these animals, and we wouldn’t trade it for anything. Learn more about us and our ranch here: https://bit.ly/4tZMttV
