Recipe of the day..... Just made popsicles with my girls for this afternoon! you will need
1 cup of fresh spinach
1/2 cup of organic Orange Juice (fresh is best) but Kids minute maid is ok too!
1/2 Cup of organic apple grape juice
1/2 of small lime squezzed

If children are old enough have them place all the items in the blender ( BE SURE TO GO OVER BLENDER SAFETY WITH THEM FIRST). Pour contents into ice trays or popsicle trays and add sticks. Then freeze for a few hours. If you would like a creamier version for those not allergic to dairy you could also add 1/2 cup of plain or vanilla yogurt. Wonderful, playful, nutrious snack!

RECIPE OF THE DAY!!!!!

Its national cheeseburger day!

What you will need... This is a Burger for those picky Husbands!!!!!

1 lb. of burger any grade, but I prefer 92/8 or Ground Turkey
End of wheat bread loaf-- graded to make bread crumbs
2 eggs
1/2 a cup of fresh spinach
1-3.5 oz jar of organic pureed carrots. (you can use DHA for added vitamins)
1-3.5 oz jar of peas
1 Tbsp. of bbq sauce
1/4 cup of shredded cheese
1/4 tsp. hamburger seasoning salt (I prefer grill mates by Mc Gormick)

Electric grill preferred, at 375

In a blender blend fresh spinach, peas, carrots, bbq sauce and egg (it will be a little thick)

Place meat in bowl with seasoning, and bread crumbs... mix by hand slightly

Add puree to burger and mix well.

Let sit in fridge for 5 minutes.

Take out and make burger size patties. Compacting well.

Place on grill at 375 for 6 minutes minimum before flipping

Cook another 6 minutes on the other side

Be sure it is around 160 degrees before eating or not pink

You could also add cooked mushrooms and onions
Place burger on whole wheat bun, add preferred condiments. (Remember it already had a dash of bbq, salt and cheese) So I usually just add a dash of mayo and lots of lettuce.

Hope you all enjoy!!!!
FOR ALL OF MY RECIPES YOU CAN USE FRESH PUREES IF YOU HAVE THE TIME TO MAKE THEM BEFORE HAND.

RECIPE OF THE DAY!!!!!!

Is trying to get your kids to eat their vegetables a constant struggle? Are you tired of chasing after them to get them to eat a piece of carrot? I have found the following ideas helpful in this never-ending battle.

Now comes the Camouflaged part, you'll have to be sneaky, creative, resourceful, and enjoy doing it. There are many ways to get your kids to eat vegetables without them even knowing that they're eating them.

For instance, let's suppose that you're making SPAGETTI and MEATBALLS.
I love to make marinara from scratch, but sometimes I don't have the time. I like to use Classico mushroom and olives, or an Organic roasted garlic. In a blender I juice 1 cup of fresh spinach, 1- 3.5 oz. organic DHA pureed Carrots, and 1- 3.5 oz. organic pureed peas. Ad this mixture to your marinara and TaDa! More nutrients for your family!
For the meatballs you can make them from scratch as well or buy organic frozen ones. I prefer turkey meatballs. For scratch you will need... ground turkey, eggs, bread crumbs, 1/2 cup of loose fresh spinach, 1- 3.5 oz. organic DHA pureed Carrots, and 1- 3.5 oz. organic pureed squash, garlic salt/ or fresh garlic, parmesan. In a blender, mix spinach, carrots, squash, and eggs. In bowl place meat, breadcrumbs and seasoning. Add spinach puree and mix by hand well. Form meatballs, spoon small amounts of marinara over the meatballs and bake in oven at 375 for 25-30 minutes. So yummy!
Place on top of spaghetti and add a fresh side salad for mom and dad and maybe the kids too!See More

Recipe of the day.....
Since we should have left over pumpkin puree lets try to finish it.

Pumpkin 7 Grain Pancakes

3/4 a Cup of Bob's Red Mill 7 grain organic pancake and waffle mix (this is dairy free, but the 10 grain has dairy)

1/4 Cup of Heart smart Bisquick pancake mix ( this is to add a little fluffiness to it)

1 Egg

2 Tbsp. oil

1 Cup of milk (for allergies you can use any milk like goats, lactose free, almond, etc.)

1/4 Cup of pureed organic pumpkin

Mix all together well, starting with liquids then adding solids (you can use a mixer if you would like)
Cook on preheated griddle at 350 or medium heat.
Flip pancake when edges begin to brown and bubbles show in center

Instead of serving with syrup you can use pumpkin butter, but my girls favorite is a little butter with lightly sifted organic powdered sugar! I like the pumpkin butter with sliced bananas!

Recipe of the day....
Peanut butter, pureed pumpkin and Jelly sandwiches on whole wheat.

2 tbs. of natural creamy peanut butter (I like natural Jif)
1 tbs. of organic or freshley pureed pumpkin (in the can is ok too)
2 slices of whole wheat bread
(I prefer organic without high fructose corn syrup)
1 tbs of organic grape jelly

Mix together the pumpkin and peanut butter well. Spread on bread. Then spread jelly and put together. Perfection!
Tastes wonderful and the kids have no idea there is pumpkin in it. Great way to camouflage a veggie!!!!!
