Ever wonder what else we do besides farm? 🌱🍎
We help teach the next generation, too!
Farmer Kate had the opportunity to visit Thurmont Primary School for Pre-K Career Day and share all about life on the orchard. The class learned about the importance of apples, where they come from, how they’re picked, the different varieties of apples, and even the parts of an apple! 🍏❤️
The students had so much fun pretending to pick apples, coming up with and naming their very own apples, and learning why farmers are such an important part of our community.
One of the sweetest full-circle moments of the day was seeing Farmer Kate and Mrs. Schildt together again. Childhood best friends who grew up at the orchard side by side, and now their careers have collided years later in the classroom with the next generation — including Ally getting to be part of such a special day, too. 💚
Thank you to Thurmont Primary School for welcoming us and allowing us to share a little piece of orchard life with your students!
