Barnyard Produce

Barnyard Produce All produce is planted, tended, and harvested by our hands. We do not buy and re-sell Barnyard Produce was born out of my love of farm life.

My family has a small 80 acre farm with 50 acres being tillable, 10 acres of which is given to raise produce and is increasing in size every year. The farm is near the Cedar River and so we have very sandy soil. Our belief in traditional farming practices (plowing vegetation under and using compost) has been building the ground up since 1969 where at one time, the tassel on the corn was taller tha

n the plant itself, where, the remnants of the vegetation would get swallowed up by the sand in no time. It took a lot of labor and loss to get to the point we're at today. The sand is a blessing when it comes to vegetables. It can grow the most tasty produce as well as having the properties to grow vegetable grown in the south. My family has always grown a garden for ourselves and now it is a pleasure to be able to grow healthy, homegrown produce for other people.

You don’t have to be big to make a big impact! We had ⭐️corn on the cob 🌟with a side of meatloaf and mashed potatoes last night. These short ears were so sweet they deserved a “corn cheers” from my 3 year old. What was left was a pile of cobs and only a half a stick of butter ☺️ Stop by our tent tomorrow at market to get yours!

It’s sweet potato time. One of our favorite vegetables to harvest. The suspense of what we will find is exciting!
