To All:
It is with mixed feelings that my family and I have made the decision to sell Driftless Bike N’ Bean and Liberty Peak Deli, but it is time for us to start a new chapter in our life. October 31st will be my last day of ownership. We are leaving feeling very blessed for the opportunity of running our own business and being able to watch it grow. As brand-new business owners we certainly made our mistakes and learned from them, but, overall, God blessed us with a success. This success is not measured by any financial gain, but by the experience, the people we met, the friends we made and the employees we had.
I have poured my heart and soul into these businesses, and they will be missed, along with all the conversations we’ve had, the people we have met, and the challenges we have overcome. We could not have done this without the support of all of you and the people that have worked for us.
What’s next for me? I will continue to work until at least the end of the year to help with the transition of the businesses over to the new ownership. I have also started some training and will put on my old IT hat and do some application support. With our youngest graduating High School, we want to spend more time with her before we become empty nesters. Sigh!! Also, being back in a professional career will allow us to get ourselves better prepared for retirement.
The Businesses? The Coffee shop and Deli area not going away!!! Many of you will already know her but come say hello to Shirley Heffner and “The Station”. We wish Shirley the best and hope that all our current customers continue to support her the same way you did us. Please read the attached article to hear more about Shirley’s story and how she has gotten to this point.
To all Bike Riders. The Hip Breaker and Catfish 50 rides will also not go away. I will continue to organize the Hip Breaker as a member of the VFW and the Catfish 50 as a member of the Trempealeau Lions Club. I would also still like to continue to work on bikes, but, at this point, I don’t know what that is going to look like. Stay tuned!
I cannot express my gratitude enough. Thank you everyone for a wonderful and unforgettable 7 years!
