The Overfield Tavern Museum once again presents "Tea at the Tavern," in partnership with McGuffey Herb & Tea Co. and Andy’s Garden Center, with generous support from the St. Patrick Soup Kitchen. Experience 19th-century elegance as you sip historically inspired teas and sample sandwiches and pastries from Bakehouse Bread Co. Period music will complement the company of friends and family in the warm, intimate environment of Troy's oldest structure. Tea will be served at two seatings on Saturday May 4; the 1 pm seating is SOLD OUT, but seats remain for our 4 pm seating. Tickets are $20 each and may be purchased through Eventbrite (search for "Overfield," subject to fee), or by mailing a check payable to the Overfield Tavern Museum at 201 E. Twelve years ago I self published a full color photo essay “Coffee Table” type book on Miami County called Miami’s Pride, A Portrait of A County. That book project was a 8.5” x11” full color landscape formatted book that featured my original photographs and paintings of people and places in Miami County. “Miami’s Pride” featured every township in the county, every community small or large and special sections of the book on “Farming” and “Making Things in Miami County”. I particular enjoyed working on the “Farming” and “Making Things” sections of the book. In the past year I have been considering possible NEW themes for a book and as a Local Food producer myself (McGuffey Herb & Spice Co.) I thought a book on “Local Food” would be a perfect fit. I did a market survey to gauge the interest in a book on Local Foods and the survey has yielded positive results so I have decided to embark on this NEW book project called Local Foods Miami County.
