High-risk, high-reward season is here. 🍯✨

July and August are our absolute best months for creating honey, and right now, our top hives are bursting with energy. The only catch? The stronger the hive, the fiercely protective they get!

As they store up their food for the season, they’re keeping a very close eye on us. Smoke, full suits, and quick hands are non-negotiable right now, but seeing those supers fill up makes it all worth it.

Our 5-month-old Honey Hens are officially on the board! They have to start somewhere, and these adorable little "practice eggs" will eventually catch up to the jumbo beauties from our seasoned Honey Hens on the left.

To give you some perspective on what it takes to protect our state, and command a massive, highly coordinated operation:

Personnel: An army of over 10,000 dedicated staff

Air Support: 70 specialized aircraft

Ground Fleet: Over 3,000 emergency vehicles

First thing this morning, the moment this fire was spotted a couple miles in front of Honey Hill, Cal Fire already had a spotter plane and two helicopters circling the area—literally lowering ground crews directly into this remote, rugged terrain to stamp it out before it could spread.

We are incredibly grateful for their swift action and hard work to keep our community and farm safe. 🙏✨

💡 A Quick Reality Check: Managing wildfires in California is a masterclass in logistics, geography, and extreme weather. Anyone claiming "you just need to turn on the faucets" is showing a complete lack of understanding regarding the realities of wildfire suppression and tactical safety. It takes an army, strategy, and immense bravery.
