Happy New Year to all! We've missed seeing everyone: our wonderful farmers, customers, friends and neighbors since I returned back to school 2 years ago this month! On behalf of the farmers, foragers, food eaters and Manna Cabanna staff and barter-buddies, we thank you for your dedicated and adventurous support of local and organic during this Summer 2018 season.

A big thanks to Jim Manenski again this season for our terrific looking newsletters, unique and delicious recipes, and social media attendance.

Many thanks also to our farmers - you've been seeing their names and faces every week thanks to our CSA distribution coordinators who have rotated through the process. A very special thanks to Manna Cabanna's #2, Maggie Chamberlain, and to weekly guest cook and co-creator of the Farmers Market Lunch Plate Special, Ana Tkacik.

Apologies for leaving any names out....there is no one any less important than the other in the mechanisms and roles we play in our local food system: growers, coordinators, and eaters alike!

This is our last Weekly Wednesday CSA Market for the summer season. Our hours are abbreviated to 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
as we have catering work this same day with Pat Strother and Impeccable Taste Catering of Tryon.

Ah, the summer is passing by... We’re celebrating the season with freshly baked pie for our final day of CSA pickups! These specially-made whole tomato pies are $14 and feature local heirloom tomatoes, local onions and local basil with three cheeses baked into a flaky pie crust Also, take home some fresh blueberry cobbler at the Wednesday Weekly Market tomorrow, as well as freshly frozen shrimp and scallops. This will be our last market day: hours are from 10am to 1pm. See you soon! We will resume market days with the start of the Fall CSA season.

Fresh Shrimp and Scallops are here!
Many of you pre-ordered: your orders are ready. We were also able to score a wee bit extra for walk-ins and for anyone that wants to up their order. There’s a limited supply of extras while they last.

For lunch tomorrow at the Wednesday Weekly Market, we will have 1/2lb steamed peel-n-eat with cocktail sauce and hushpuppies as a grab- n-go item as well as Ratatouille with potato gnocchi and side salad. Authentic Tamales and Tamale Plates will be available, as well!

Our CSA is coming to a close with Wednesday, August 15 our last day for the Spring/Summer season. We will be announcing to all what our Winter program will look like as well as when it will begin—typically it starts sometime in November.
During the fall weeks of September and October we’ll be offering a weekly box that can be ordered weekly via an email reply, that will state what is in the box specifically each week. We may be able to offer a half or a whole box. We will try to keep the pricing between $20-$35. Add-ons like eggs, sauces, broths, meats, etc will also be available in this ordering process. This could be your dinner party, featuring fresh South Carolina shrimp!
If interested in fresh shrimp or scallops from the coast, this is your lucky week. Fresh Carolina shrimp, averaging 25 per pound for $14 lb. will be at Manna Cabanna's Weekly Wednesday Market this Wednesday. To make an order, email [email protected] before noon tomorrow, Tuesday, August 7. and include the number of pounds you would like. Pay by cash check or card at pick-up.

We will have your order ready between 10 am - 7 pm at 835 N. Trade St. in Tryon—our shared-use kitchen location. Bring a cool bag and a little ice for your pickup and enjoy sweet plump fresh shrimp, never frozen, brought back from the coast directly to you by Manna Cabanna!
