Garlic scapes season is here and soon will be gone. We will be at Waitsfield Farmers Market from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. rain or shine with a pile of these seasonal garlic treats. They seem to be a hot ticket item this year. Pesto, sautéed, grilled-fresh mild garlic flavor for those like us who include garlic in every meal.

Can you see a meal in this photo? I see Caesar salad with a side of golden beets. While you are Waitsfield Farmers Market sourcing these beautiful veggies, round out your plate with some Sage Goat dairy cheese. Also, grab some fresh eggs (Caesar dressing) and chicken from Triple J Pastures. Farmers’ markets in Vermont are really spectacular these days. Enjoy life, and eat well!

Yes! Those are beets for Memorial Day weekend, fresh out of our field. And also fresh tender baby garlic to grill up or add to your pasta salad. Finally, love it or leave it: yup, KALE is back in season here in Vermont.
