What's for dinner at Duley Farms Produce ? Chicken tacos with taco slaw. The slaw ingredients are fresh from our field. The produce in the pic is real (I did use AI for the background to make it pretty. Lol)! If you're interested in your own ingredients for slaw, you can order online or come out to The Croom Community Farmers Market on Saturday from 10am to 2pm at 8505 Croom Rd. Nothing beats fresh. Everything is picked that morning.

Don't forget the Whitt's Farm green hot sauce!

Ever wonder why your home-cooked meals taste so much better with garlic straight from the farm compared to the grocery store? 🧄✨
It’s not just in your head—there is a massive difference! Most people don't realize that supermarket garlic is often harvested months before it hits the shelves, traveling thousands of miles just to get to you.
Here is why swapping store-bought for truly fresh garlic changes the game:
🌱 The Flavor is Alive: Because supermarket garlic sits in storage, its natural sugars turn to starch. That’s where you get that bitter, metallic "garlic burn." Fresh garlic is sweet, rich, savory, and incredibly fragrant without the harsh aftertaste.
🔪 The Sticky Test: Chop a clove of fresh garlic, and your fingers will get incredibly sticky! That is a sign of high-quality, intact essential oils and juice. Store-bought garlic is often dry, papery, and dehydrated.
🚫 No Bitter Green Sprout: Old garlic is constantly trying to grow, which is why store-bought cloves often have that annoying green germ down the center that makes your dishes taste bitter. Truly fresh garlic is tender and sweet all the way through.
Plus, when you buy fresh and local, you get to experience incredible Hardneck varieties (like Rocambole or Porcelain) that offer deep, buttery, or fiery flavors you will never find on a mega-grocery store shelf.
Your next pasta sauce, roasted chicken, or garlic bread deserves the real deal!
Support local, taste the difference, and grab a few heads of the fresh stuff this week. Your tastebuds will thank you! 🙌

Wow! What a market today. Thank you to everyone that came out to support us. It really means a lot.

This was our first year growing cauliflower! They turned out great! Sorry if you missed it at The Croom Community Farmers Market we will plant a lot more next time!

If you're wondering about the color?

Sun Exposure: Cauliflower naturally develops a yellowish or beige pigment when it is exposed to the sun while growing. Commercial growers often tie the outer green leaves over the head as it grows (a process called "blanching" in the field) to block the sun and keep it stark white. If a little sunlight sneaks through, it just gets a bit of a tan.
