🌸We had a good question this week, so I wanted to share some info about our dahlia tubers and tuber sale.
🩷A dahlia tuber is one way of propagating a dahlia. Its root is called a tuber. You can also take cuttings of the plant and root them. Both tubers and cuttings will yield exact replicas of the mother dahlia plant (Seeds will be a unique, new variety).
🌸Our tuber sale is our chance to pass on some of our favorite varieties of dahlias. After the sale, we ship them to you, and you can plant them in your garden after your last frost. There are planting instructions on the dahlia tuber page of our website, just note that if they freeze, they'll get mushy and no longer be viable.
🩷Once planted, you'll have your own dahlia blooms late summer into fall; they bloom until the first frost! Each tuber will yield one plant that grows between 3.5-6 feet on average (there are some border size plants like Creme de Cassis that reach about 2 feet), and produce many flowers.
🌸These flowers bring peace throughout the season from planting, caring for them, and harvesting. They make bouquets that are beautiful in your own home or shared with loved ones.
🩷I love them. 🥰
