Fresh bread, cookies, and treats are back in the stand — but since we’re smack in the middle of Buckeye country, we obviously need to properly celebrate yesterday’s win.

Enter the Buckeye Cake. 👀

Moist chocolate cake + peanut butter icing + mini Buckeyes on top.

Basically, if an Ohio State victory had a dessert, I’m pretty sure this would be it. 😂

🍎 Well… I should have made more because once work gets out how good this is it’s not gonna last long!

I think it’s safe to say our Apple C***r Sourdough test is officially becoming a feature next weekend.

This loaf is infused with real apple c***r and packed with Granny Smith apple chunks, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and all the cozy fall things. 🍏🍂

And listen—I am not usually a sweet bread person.

But this one might cause some marital hoarding. 😂

Scott doesn’t think I noticed, but he quietly squirreled away the rest of our test loaf.

I’m choosing to believe this is because he plans to make me French toast in the morning.

Dreams do come true. 🤞😂

If not, we may need to renegotiate the household bread-sharing agreement.

🐓 THE STAND IS OPEN! And YES… there are Oatmeal Cream Pies! 🙌

Along with those giant beauties, today we’ve got:

🐓🥚🍳Three dozen chicken eggs and also quail eggs
🍪 Our NEW Toffee Caramel Pretzel Crunch Cookies — toffee, caramel, chocolate and salty pretzel goodness. You loved them so much last week we brought them back!
🎃Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Scones- A taste if fall- real pumpkin, pumpkin spice and mini chocolate chips with a chocolate glaze
🍎 Mini Apple Pie Cakes — which apparently have created a labor dispute here at Black Rooster Acres. 😂

I had not shared an Apple Pie Cake with Scott yet, so this morning I gifted him one. He’s a huge help around here, and baked goods are basically how he gets paid.

He has now tasted the cake and is negotiating for a raise. I only have myself to blame 😂

And don’t forget the SOURDOUGH! 🍞

The stand is open. However my day job has been demanding so sweet treats get added tomorrow! Sorry for the short, not so much engaging post but wanted to let you know that there is farmhouse original everything bagel, pepperoni, and cheese and cinnamon swirl plus eggs in the stand today.

Yes- the oatmeal cream pies will be there TOMORROW along with our smore cookie bars which one customer described as divine! Not my words but his! 😂

🏈 BUCKEYE FOOTBALL IS BACK NEXT WEEKEND! 🌰❤️🩶

As I’m working on next week’s menu, I realized something very important…

It’s opening weekend for Ohio State football! Which means we clearly need to discuss the most important part of game-day preparation: the food. 😂

You KNOW there will be some chocolate + peanut butter Buckeye-inspired treats happening. 🌰🍫

And I’m working on something fun for your football parties — a Charcuterie Focaccia Board!

It’s a focaccia bread baked with wells for our bread dipping oil, then plenty of room for you to load it up with all your favorite meats, cheeses, olives, veggies and other charcuterie goodies.

Basically, the board IS the bread. 😂

Load it. Dip it. Tear it apart. Eat the whole thing.

And when the party is over? No board to clean because you ate it. I’m calling that a win. 🏆

📚🐓 A little something from the non-baking side of my life…

For those who may not know, when I’m not baking bread, working my full-time job, or keeping the stand stocked, I’m also working on my MBA with a concentration in AI & Data Analytics.

Last night I was up LATE finishing this term’s class on Negotiations — and apparently my professor was up early grading because I’m pretty sure my final presentation was still warm when she got it. 😂

Fresh out of the oven, Black Rooster Acres style.

And she must have liked the recipe…

🎉 99.1% final grade in the class

So today I’m putting those newly polished negotiation skills to work and negotiating myself into something I definitely earned:
