At the orchard, even on such a beautiful day as last Saturday we needed to prepare for changes in the weather. We prepped and cranked up and tested all the wind machines to be ready for crop damaging low temperatures.
Early mornings are particularly dangerous for the tender apple buds as the air stills and gets colder and settles near the ground The machines move the higher and (hopefully) warmer air down and circulates it thru the trees. If they are needed we sure hope they do their job!!

Spring is maple sop gathering time! Our own John Henry went to see the impressive process of making our pure maple syrup. The natural sap is collected from pristine maple trees and boiled down at the sugarbush into the delicious syrup we all love.
