Everyday I candle the days egg collection. 🥚🕯️Each and every single egg passes through my hands. 🫶
I do this for our eating eggs and our hatching eggs. I’m checking for cracks or other blemishes that would degrade the egg. By my standards, cracked eggs are not good to sell for eating or for hatching. It decreases the shelf life of eating eggs, and hatch rate of hatching eggs. 🍳 🐣
Because we get so many eggs, we get a fair amount of cracked eggs. These are the eggs that D and I eat for ourselves and our dogs. I also use the cracked eggs to make our famous Canine Caviar! Zero waste around here folks.
