Love this momma 🥰🙏🏻
Lately I have been struggling with traumas from the past. Every trigger spins me into an anxious mess that can’t function. As I have been trying to break the chains of trauma and be set free from it, the Holy Spirit keeps whispering to me to shut up. (Maybe in a nicer way.) When we have been through traumatic things it is normal to want to talk about it. Even years later. We relive the moments. We think about them often. We play them over and over and wonder what we could have done differently. We play the what ifs in our head. We stay victim to our past even after being set free from it.
But in the Bible it tells us to forget the former things. To not dwell on the past. To forget what was behind us and press forward. Every time we relive, recite, and dwell on the past traumas, we are entertaining the demons of the past. We are identifying with our trauma and playing right into the hands of the enemy to keep us in bo***ge.
If you are seeking deliverance and freedom from past pain, the world will tell you to talk about it often and relive it. To vent it out. But the Bible tells us to forget the past and move forward to what is ahead. To keep trusting in His faithfulness.
If you are feeling stuck like me, watch your tongue. Refuse to think of past pain. Think on what is admirable, true, excellent and of the Lord and watch your trauma disappear and freedom come. Take authority over every thought and watch freedom come.
Isaiah 43:18-19, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
Philippians 3:13-14, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal”.
