You can't just buy equipment and expect to make good hay.

You have to learn timing, the science behind the weather you're dealing with that week, and be ready for anything that might go wrong.

20+ years of generational experience and understanding of the process produces hay like this.

Fortunately for our customers- we intend to keep the process rolling for the next generation.

There's wildlife out and about everyday here on our homestead.

The cool part is often they arent even scared of us because we spend so much time in the woods with them and we leave our property natural to accommodate an ecosystem that they need.

-Once a year we harvest only what we need for venison and leave the rest alone.
-We only cut down standing dead trees for firewood or very selective live trees.
-We let a bee keeper use our property so that the plants have good pollination and support.
-We practice predator control by trapping- but only a selective amount to make sure nothing gets out of balance.

This is properly coexisting as a responsible predator with wildlife.

Too gorgeous of a morning to not be in the garden!

Maine's weather is hanging out on the cooler side but the season is short so its now or never. Tomatoes, peppers, and Husk cherries went in this morning.

I told myself to go easy on the tomatoes but still ended up planting 33 of them 🙈 My friend, Bobbi Marshall, graced me with some super cool varieties last night after I picked up my pepper plant order from N44 farmstead

If you have tons of eggs in the summer and don't have the kitchen aid pasta attachment.. what are you even doing with your life??

Flour is cheap and this machine makes quick works of noodles! I am filling my freezer while the eggs are plentiful.

I'm bartering use of this one, it's my friends and in exchange for using it I just keep her stocked with the goods! I will however, 💯 be investing in one.

I'm a firm believer that food processing equipment should be your #1 investment on a homestead.
Freezers, meat grinders, vacuum sealers, etc.

Out of my best milking ewe. Single ram so he's getting ALL the milk to himself.

His mother is the best tempered ewe in the whole flock. Her lambs have consistently carried that same temperament each year.

It's all about furbearers!

The little kids' class will cover species, their habitats, their habits, and guessing which real fur and skulls belong to which critter!

The big kids' class will cover everything the little kid class does, PLUS talk about the importance of conservation efforts and respecting the wildlife we exist with.
