Winter is upon us and it cold but beautiful outside. ❄️🧦

We don’t do much on the flower farm in the winter other than feed the chickens and plow snow.

In the fall, we purchased a small piece of woods just behind our barn and I took a walk through it today. The snow was lightly falling and it was so peaceful.

I’m excited for summer because I just love working with my flowers, but I really enjoyed the peace and stillness today💕🌸

Our chickens are getting more consistent with their egg laying, so we have been able to start distributing some eggs.

I took three dozen eggs to Mid Market last week with some vegetables and I didn’t have leftovers.

I love my little homestead. It’s small, but it brings me so much joy.

We are having a market at work next week and everyone is donating some of their handmade food & crafts.

You don’t have to pay for anything, we are just swapping our treasures for someone else’s treasures. I am hoping I have a couple dozen eggs to share and maybe some produce from my garden.We are also donating all the produce from our community garden at work.
I wanted to test out some mini bouquets that I plan on bringing next week and sharing them with our neighbors at the lake 🌸💕

The sunflowers are starting to bloom and I just love the character they add to my bouquets.

I planted some Lilly’s last year not knowing what would come up and I have been so pleased with the beautiful colors.

The Lilly’s are in the memorial garden I planted for our dog Bella who passed away last June. When we would bring her to the farm she would always lay by the pole the lillies are planted around.

Just seeing the flowers brings me joy and reminds me of my sweet Bella bean. ❤️🐶

I was away for work the past couple of days and had the opportunity to visit Michigan State University's campus.

I went on a walk with work friends and learned a clever way to coax geese out of your path. 🙌🏻

I'm excited to be back home and tend to our chickens. They're getting bigger and I'm looking forward to collecting fresh eggs soon. 🤞🏻

The strawberries are almost done and I was able to package up 3 pints to give away to family and still have enough for Lenore Fishers strawberry jam.

Although it's early in the season for flowers, I do have a few snap dragons, wild daisies, and peonies that I can use to create a couple of bouquets. 🌸🌼

I plan to take these to my colleagues at work tomorrow and am looking forward to the zinnias, sunflowers, and daisies blooming soon.
