It's time to try delicious beef from a small family farm in the High Country. Our promise: To provide beef that tastes better & is healthier for you because of where it comes from & how it is cared for. We begin with a commitment to quality, with beef free of any added hormones or steroids, to provide you the same safe, clean, and delicious meat our family has eaten for generations. Our beef is ne

ver treated with antibiotics except in limited circumstances and for limited periods when medically necessary to treat a temporary illness - just as you do for your children. Our cattle are specially bred and fed with a blended diet of high quality clover-rich pasture forage, supplemented with a vegetable based feed for the best flavor, texture, tenderness, and marbling. Why Frozen? Over half of the food produced in the US is wasted from spoilage. We vacuum-seal and freeze our beef as soon as it's butchered, all the way to your table, minimizing waste while delivering the best quality available.

Summer just showed up at the Farm Store ☀️🌿

Our new Summer Tallow Balm has landed and it smells like one of those slow summer evenings in the mountains. Lavender, orange, and cypress come together in a way that feels fresh without being overpowering.

This one’s going to be hard to put down.

A real farm doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful 🌾

Farmer Bob talks about what authenticity looks like here at Shipley Farms. Things are always changing, always improving, and always being worked on. That’s life on a working farm.

When people come here, we want them to leave feeling like they experienced something real. That connection matters more to us than having everything look polished.

The garden entrance is starting to come together 🌿

Gray’s building an arbor from old black locust posts we salvaged during storm cleanup, and honestly, it’s going to be a pretty special spot once the grapevines grow in.

One thing about the farm… projects have a way of turning into stories over time.

Rain is finally in the forecast… and we sure are thankful for it 🌧️

Gray’s out in the pasture talking about drought, soil health, and why regenerative farming matters so much in years like this. Even with dry conditions, the grass is still growing because healthy soil holds moisture better than most people realize.

There’s a lot more going on in a pasture than people think.

It’s National Beef Month 🐄

Farmer Bob is breaking down the difference between dairy cattle, beef cattle, and the breeds we use here on the farm. From Angus to Hereford, every breed brings something different to the table, and choosing the right cattle matters more than most people realize.

If you’ve ever wondered why certain cattle are raised for beef, this one’s worth the watch.

Turns out willow trees can help grow new plants 🌱

Gray’s out on the farm making willow water and propagating lemon balm the old-fashioned way. With a little patience and a jar of water, one plant suddenly starts turning into many. Honestly, it’s pretty fascinating to watch.

Last Thursday’s Twilight Farm Tour was a good one 🌅

We loved spending the evening walking the farm, sharing stories, answering questions, and discussing what agritourism can look like in practice. There’s something special about seeing the farm at sunset with a group that’s genuinely curious and excited to learn.

Swipe through for a few moments from the evening. We’re grateful for everyone who came out and spent part of their Thursday with us!
