Our first Viroqua Farmers Market Kids’ Market is this Saturday, June 6th, in the WTC Parking Lot, from 8 am. – 12:30 pm. It allows young entrepreneurs to create, sell, and manage their own small businesses at the market.

This is a great fundraising event for the Double Up Food Buck program. This will support the Foodshare and EBT program at the Viroqua Farmers Market. The event dates are June 19, July 24, August 28, and September 18, all from 5-8 p.m., at Sittin Pretty Farm, located at the corner of Ridge Road and County Road NN in Viroqua. Chapter members will be volunteering their time to make and serve pizzas. All profits from the events will go toward the Chapter’s Double Up Food Bucks initiative at the Viroqua Farmers Market. 🍕

According to a national survey, nearly half (49%) of farmers market attendees reported shopping at nearby local businesses when visiting a farmers market, and 42% reported eating at local restaurants on market days, providing a boost to local economies.

We are getting excited for this Saturday morning. It looks like it will be a gorgeous morning here at the Viroqua Farmers Market. With the warm weather, produce will start appearing. So far, lettuce, radishes, rhubarb, mushrooms, microgreens, and asparagus have been available.
