Mākeke Wai'anae, a farmers' & green market Mākeke Waianae is owned and operated by ‘Elepaio Social Services, a wholly owned nonprofit subsidiary of the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center.

The primary purpose of the Mākeke is to help cultivate a community that is healthy in mind, body and spirit by providing vibrant gathering places for the community, local food producers and Hawaiian cultural practitioners to; connect, share, learn, teach, entertain, and express values that lead to healthy and affordable habits which move Hawai‘i closer to maintaining long-term sustainable food sources.

Did you know you can receive $250 a month to spend on fruits, vegetables, protein, poi and honey at Mākeke Wai'anae, a farmers' & green market?

Through our Food Subscription Program, participants can receive $250 a month for six months to purchase fruits, veggies, proteins, poi, and honey at our farmers markets.
To be eligible, you must:

- Be an active patient at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center
- Live along the Leeward Coast of Oʻahu
- Have been previously denied SNAP/EBT

Participants must also attend monthly workshops and complete health assessment surveys during the program.

Yesterday we celebrated our mākeke intern Sadie’s last day as she heads to Southern California for college.

Since joining our team last year, Sadie has been a huge part in working with our vendors and helping the community through our SNAP/EBT doubling program.
