Welcome to Fall!!! Coming up, two events to learn more about Aronia, healthy berries and our products.

First, see us at Rising Tide Co-op in Damariscotta on Friday October 10th from 5 to 7 for a fun time to taste products, including ours, and save 10%. It's a great opportunity to meet vendors and farmers and to celebrate fall with Rising Tide!

Second, we will be teaching a class at the Maine Tasting Center in Wiscasset on Wednesday October 15th at 5 pm. We will cover the health benefits of Aronia Berries and healthy berries in general, including tasting of berries and our products. You need to sign up for this ahead of time under the title All About Aronia Berries with Waldoberry Farm.

We hope you'll join us at one of these tasting events.

Aronia berries are now available! We are so happy to tell you this since last year our aronia crop failed. Our organic fresh frozen aronia berries will be available at Rising Tide Co-op, Sheepscot General and Daybreak Growers Alliance very soon. We also have our Aronia Extract and Soothing Tea. All of our products are certified organic by Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA).

It's time to start thinking about protection against flus, viruses and bacteria! Wishing you a happy, healthy season.

Happy June!! Finally, it is feeling like Spring and the aronia are flowering. The flowers are looking beautiful with the promise of berries. Last year our flowers did not develop berries due to the weather. We are encouraged that this season we will have aronia berries available to sell!

So here is to sunny days with rain showers to nourish our berries. We will keep you updated on our berries progress.

It's Spring and elderberry cuttings time! Elderberry bushes are loved by bees, birds and you! Both the flowers and the berries contain anthocyanins. Here at the farm, we cut our elder flowers to use in our Soothing Tea.

To root cuttings, soak the cuttings in water covering the bottom two buds about 1/3 of the way up the stem and put them in a sunny spot. When the cutting has developed several roots, plant in potting soil and cover all of the roots then water well. Place in a sunny spot and keep moist. Once they have leafed out and doubled in size, they are ready to plant. They should be planted between 6 to 8 feet apart. The plants can grow quite large and respond well to pruning so you can control the size and shape or let them grow naturally. Keep the plants well watered. Elderberry bushes require TLC their first year and are easy and rewarding thereafter!

You can find our organic, native elderberry cuttings (Sambucus Canadensis) at Fresh Off The Farm, Good Tern Co-op and Rising Tide Co-op.

Happy Spring!! The Cornelian Cherries are blooming so we are hoping there will be cherries this year. So, fingers crossed for no frosts this spring.

On our website, waldoberryfarm.com, you can now purchase our Soothing Tea and Aronia Extract. We had several customers ask if we could mail them our products and now we can! Check out our Shop Tab.

Our berries are now available thru Daybreak Growers Alliance in their CSA boxes and for their wholesale sales. Our fresh frozen, certified organic, aronia berries and raspberries are getting wider distribution in Maine. We are very excited to hear chefs in Maine are ordering our aronia berries! Our raspberries have also found their way to local school districts!

We were so, so happy to see our raspberries and the delicious yogurt from in a smoothie breakfast at RSU 12 public schools. This picture put a big smile on our faces!!!

The aronia berries are harvested and the Aronia Extract and Soothing Tea are made. Come see us at Sheepscot General Store and Farm and sample our berries, extract and tea on Friday from 4:30 to 6:30.

Friday is pizza night and there is live music as well! We know what is for dinner Friday night, our favorite pizza!!!

Come see us and remember to call and order your pizza.

The elderflowers are harvested and a new season of tea is on its way. This is our youngest farm helper working on the harvest.

Our frozen aronia berries and Soothing Tea are now available at Sheepscot General Store! We will be at the store on Friday, September 15th for pizza night and music. We will have samples of aronia berries, our Aronia Extract and our Soothing Tea. Come see us and have some great pizza!!!

Also, you can now order our Soothing Tea thru The Maine Organic Marketplace, MOFGA's Online Store, in the Vendor's Marketplace.

If you are going to be in Brunswick this Saturday, Feb 4th, stop by and see us at Morning Glory Natural Foods. We will be giving samples of our Aronia Extract from 10 until 2. We hope to see you there!

It's cold and flu season again! Time to build up your immune system with antioxidants. Aronia has a higher ORAC level than elderberry.

We take a teaspoon a day of our Aronia extract to keep the doctor away! You can find Waldoberry Farm Aronia Extract at Rising Tide and the MOFGA store in Freeport.

This weekend we are digging up the honeyberries. The weather forecast is for some rainy days so it will be a good time to transplant these bushes. We are selling these bushes in threes for maximum productivity. The cost for three plants is $90. See our previous post for more details on the bushes.

We will be contacting you if you have already ordered shrubs. We do have shrubs left so let us know if you are interested in getting some of these delicious and nutritious berry bushes!
