🚨🔥 BURN BAN NOW IN EFFECT — LEAKE COUNTY 🔥🚨
Effective today, October 15, 2026, a burn ban is in effect for Leake County due to dry conditions and the increased risk of fires spreading.
We are asking everyone to take this seriously and help protect our community.
🚫 NO OUTDOOR BURNING of leaves, brush, debris, or other materials covered by the ban.
🚜 USE CAUTION with equipment that could produce sparks.
🚭 DO NOT throw ci******es or other burning materials onto the ground.
📞 CALL 911 immediately if you see a fire spreading or getting out of control.
A small fire can quickly become a dangerous situation, putting homes, property, and lives at risk.
The Leake County Sheriff's Office, Leake County Firefighters Association, and Leake County Emergency Management are asking everyone to follow the burn ban and do their part to prevent unnecessary fires.
This burn ban is scheduled to go through November 15, 2026; however, if conditions change it can be lifted before this end date.
