Yesterday we added candy boards to our hives as we prepare them for winter. These sugar cakes will give the bees plenty of food to feast on in hopes that we will have two healthy hives to start with next spring and possibly spilt to 4. Our goals are to grow our apiary next season, develop a proper processing space and begin to create more honey and beeswax related products for our customers to enjoy! 🐝 🍯 💛

✨️ Golden Hour ✨️

Just an August evening with the bees. We are cautiously optimistic about the honey harvest this season, but pests have been our biggest battle. We are helping our swarm hive that was captured in May by feeding it sugar water to boost the work efforts in building the hive strong before winter hits. The swarm has exploded in numbers so those are good signs, but we will not be harvesting honey from 2 hives this year. We can only guess to how much honey we will see when we harvest later this month. Fingers crossed it will be enough to cover the loss of hive #1 to pests and the expenses of the new hive boxes when we were blessed with a swarm🤞

Tried The Pollinator yesterday Honey, lavender and vanilla ice cream. It was delightful! Honey on vanilla ice cream will now and forever be my thing.

The City of Warsaw allows you to celebrate and have fireworks from July 2-6 starting at 8:00 AM till Midnight each day.
