🚨 Please Help. 🚨

Last week our friend Abel was taken into ICE custody as he was leaving a Home Depot.

Abel has built Mott’s Market from the ground up. He laid the flooring, built the coffee bar, ran every inch of wire and installed the ceiling. He brought our vision of Mott’s to life and was just as excited as all of you for it to open. I always tell him, “You’re the only person who’s getting free sandwiches here for life.” Now I need your help to make sure he’s here to collect on that.

Abel is a father and a good man who has spent over 20 years creating his life here. He has been following a legal pathway to citizenship and his son who is currently serving in the United States Navy is sponsoring him. Unfortunately ICE detained Abel before that process could be completed.
We’ve been covering his legal fees along that path, but with this detention the costs have grown significantly. Now, we’re asking our community to show up for him the way he has always shown up for us.

Donations will go toward Abel’s legal expenses, commissary while he’s detained and keeping his home stable.

Hi Folks!

For the 4th year in a row, we are partnering with Holton Cares to provide both regular groceries and Thanksgiving meal makings for families in need. As you can imagine, the need this year is even greater than usual.

A young neighbor on 12th Street is also collecting food for the Capital Area Foodbank, so some of our donations will go to them as well.

You can drop food off on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday this week at Mott’s Market (233 12th Street SE) from 5 - 6:30PM.

Wow!! Just look at what you all made happen. This 9-foot table is packed with food that will go directly to our neighbors through the and we’ll be dropping it all off tomorrow.
Thank you to for helping pull all this together and thank you, ALL OF YOU for helping us scare away hunger together! This is what community is all about. Nice work everyone.

Calling all little monsters, ghosts, and ghouls! 👻
On Friday, October 30th from 5–8 p.m., Mott’s Market will be handing out candy to all our wonderful trick-or-treaters and accepting food donations for the Capital Area Food Bank.
