Tonight, you can catch a FREE concert by rising country rock musician Jake Nelson at the RiverLoop Amphitheatre, brought to you by our friends at Waterloo Center for the Arts. The fun starts at 5:30 pm.

Then tomorrow morning, hit the Waterloo Urban Farmers Market for fresh produce, unique local products, delicious prepared foods and refreshing beverages.

Waterloo Urban Farmers Market seeks to help ensure that EVERYONE has a place at the table and access to delicious and nutritious, fresh local foods. To that end, the market presents weekly market events at the RiverLoop Expo Plaza in our city's center.

The market also participates in a wide variety of food access programs and initiatives which seek to reduce financial barriers which can negatively impact the ability of individuals to adequately feed themselves and their families.

Come out to the market this Saturday, May 24 to learn about how you can get connected to fresh, healthy foods.

We'll have information about available resources and assistance in applying for programs including:

-SNAP/EBT

-WIC administered by Operation Threshold

-Double Up Food Bucks, a program of Iowa Healthiest State Initiative

-Veggie Vouchers from UNI Center for Energy and Environmental Education

-Senior Farmers Market Vouchers distributed through Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging

-Produce Rx vouchers prescribed by Peoples Community Health Clinic

-Northeast Iowa Food Bank & Cedar Valley Food Pantry

-Community Meals
