The 2023 North Country Fiber Fair event "Fiber Speed-Dating for Producers, Buyers, and Processors" is sponsored by Coteau Community Market, because local farmers raising meat animals and seed/oil plants that are also sources of fiber need to be able to sell all of what they raise (wool as well as meat, bast fibers as well as seeds) in order to be a sustainable business. This event is a first step in organizing a fiber shed for our region. Join the conversation at 7 pm on Friday, Sept. 15th. Tickets can be purchased at the info table.

CCM is sponsoring the demo booth and the fiber speed-dating event because farmers raising meat animals and seed or oil plants that are also sources of fiber need to be able to sell *all* parts of what they raise (wool as well as meat, bast fibers as well as seeds) in order to be a sustainable business.

🎨 Explore the Art of Fiber! Join us for live demonstrations each day every hour on the half-hour when the vendors are open, brought to you by Coteau Community Market. Unveil the secrets behind crafting intricate fiber masterpieces. These demos are a chance to learn from others. Don't miss out!

πŸŒΎπŸ‘ FIBER SPEED DATING EVENT! πŸ‘πŸŒΎ

Greetings to all fiber enthusiasts! We’re hosting an exciting opportunity for Fiber Producers, Buyers, and Processors to engage in one-on-one conversations, share knowledge, and expand your network. Whether you raise fiber animals, grow plant fibers, specialize in natural dyes, or process raw materials into value-added products, we'd love for you to join us!

πŸ“Œ This event is a match made in heaven for:

Farmers raising fiber animals (sheep, alpaca, goats, rabbits, silkworms – and more!)
Farmers growing plant fibers (flax, h**p, cotton, bamboo, etc.) or plants for dyes
Natural dye enthusiasts
Buyers of raw materials
Fiber processors
Those interested in building a regional fibershed

If you are just starting out or fully booked for the foreseeable future, your presence is valuable! The gathering will only last about an hour and serves as an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of your work and establish potential collaborations.

πŸ“š Come prepared with business cards and any specific information you'd like to share. Handouts can be exceptionally useful! For example, mills might bring a complete price list, while farmers could list the specific breeds they raise. We're more than happy to print your handouts at the info table if you provide the file.

🎁 As a token of appreciation, all attendees will receive an organic cotton reusable tote from our sponsor, Coteau Community Market. Let's come together to strengthen our local fibershed and ensure a sustainable future for all aspects of our industry.

Join us for this fun, fast-paced networking opportunity! https://northcountryfiberfair.org/class/fiber-speed-dating/
