CCM is sponsoring this event and the demo booth because farmers raising meat animals and seed or oil plants that are also sources of fiber need to be able to sell *all* parts of what they raise (wool as well as meat, bast fibers as well as seeds) in order to be a sustainable business.
πΎπ FIBER SPEED DATING EVENT! ππΎ
Greetings to all fiber enthusiasts! Weβre hosting an exciting opportunity for Fiber Producers, Buyers, and Processors to engage in one-on-one conversations, share knowledge, and expand your network. Whether you raise fiber animals, grow plant fibers, specialize in natural dyes, or process raw materials into value-added products, we'd love for you to join us!
π This event is a match made in heaven for:
Farmers raising fiber animals (sheep, alpaca, goats, rabbits, silkworms β and more!)
Farmers growing plant fibers (flax, h**p, cotton, bamboo, etc.) or plants for dyes
Natural dye enthusiasts
Buyers of raw materials
Fiber processors
Those interested in building a regional fibershed
If you are just starting out or fully booked for the foreseeable future, your presence is valuable! The gathering will only last about an hour and serves as an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of your work and establish potential collaborations.
π Come prepared with business cards and any specific information you'd like to share. Handouts can be exceptionally useful! For example, mills might bring a complete price list, while farmers could list the specific breeds they raise. We're more than happy to print your handouts at the info table if you provide the file.
π As a token of appreciation, all attendees will receive an organic cotton reusable tote from our sponsor, Coteau Community Market. Let's come together to strengthen our local fibershed and ensure a sustainable future for all aspects of our industry.
Join us for this fun, fast-paced networking opportunity! https://northcountryfiberfair.org/class/fiber-speed-dating/
