The Friday Watkins Glen Farmers Market is closed and disbanding. This account will be deleted on September 28, 2025.
We began at a time when farm-to-table was still a radical idea in many small towns.
For over a decade we were a place for local food growers and producers, foodies and families to meet up. We shortened the American food chain to one direct link.
A huge Thank You to all our loyal customers and vendors; to the Village Council for their support.
What a joy it was to share so many Friday afternoons with friends and neighbors in Lafayette Park!

Listeria is serious. Here's the info:

In the lead up to our final market of the season , October 29, we'll be featuring A Recipe A Day.
First up is everyone's favorite, Apple Crisp!
(Make it spring through autumn, using whatever fruit is in season...think next spring and rhubarb crisp!)

Butter, flour, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt make a quick and simple topping for fresh sliced apples.

It's definitely time to stock up on winter essentials like maple syrup!
You may think you have enough, but what if you make these delicious rolls as part of your weekly mainstay?
Pro tip: go full maple by substituting maple sugar for part of the brown sugar in the filling!

A nice, warm fall day for the Watkins Glen Farmers Market! Straight-Way Farm will have some nice end of summer produce like tomatoes, peppers, raspberries, rainbow chard, Tuscan kale and salad mix. Poblano peppers and jalapenos are on special sale price today. We also have some fall never-sprayed empire apples and pears. We have an abundance of certified organic grain-fed, pasture-raised chicken and eggs, maple syrup and maple candy. And plan to stock up for your winter skin care needs with our hand-made soaps and body butters to keep that cracked, dry, winter skin at bay. Also, don't forget to bring your $4.00 FMNP checks and use them before the market season ends! We hope to see you at Lafayette Park this afternoon from 3-6. Thanks!

Put on your puffy coat or 'best' carhart jacket and come to the market today!
Now is the time to stock up in maple syrup, winter squash, cabbage, the last tomatoes, apples, garlic, onions and potatoes.
Ask our vendors on deals for large quantities for storage or freezing.
