Whippoorwill Blueberries

Whippoorwill Blueberries Locally Grown Blueberries We planted our blueberry bushes over a decade ago. We have just the early varieties and start picking in mid-June through July.

We have four different types: Austin, Brightwell, Climax and Premier and all are
irrigated. While these are not organic, we use a minimal amount of chemicals. The only thing that is sprayed on the berries is a product called "Neem". Neem is an oil that comes from the Neem tree which grows in the tropics. This product is approved for organic growing by the Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI)

. We do fertilize once in March and we occasionally spray weeds but this, of course, is not close to the bush. There is a restroom available, picnic tables and plenty of free cold water. We also have chairs to sit on to make it easier to reach those great berries low on the bushes. Blueberries freeze very well so come out and stock up. It's nice to be able to have a taste of summer in the winter with a smoothie or cobbler or a handful of berries on your cereal. You Pick: $10/gallon
