Waupaca's Dancing Bear Apiary

Waupaca's Dancing Bear Apiary Since 1976 we've offered pure, raw, unfiltered honey straight from our bees to your table! Flavorful & nutritious local honey, what could be more natural?

Dancing Bear Apiary has been collecting and bottling the finest Wisconsin honey since 1976. We take great care to insure that our honey is carefully handled from hive to bottle. All the flavor and healthful things that bees work so hard to put into the honey are still there. We only lightly filter our honey, keeping a rich, fulfilling taste with all the nutritious benefits. Available only at Main

Street Marketplace - Downtown Waupaca

Well, 50 years of spending time with bugs. Finished up the honey harvest and shipped the bees West to California where we will start it all over again in January.

What do our honeybees do during the Wisconsin winter? Here's the story.

After giving them a rest/spa treatment in the climate controlled warehouse in Idaho, they move down to California for almond pollination and a jump on the seasons to get ready for the Wisconsin honey season.

BeeHero takes you on a journey into the heart of California’s Central Valley to experience the miracle of the largest pollination event on the planet — the a...

Our bees arrived in California in early January fresh out of cold storage in Idaho where they spent several months relaxing. We traveled out to California to go through them and give them some feed and pollen substitute to help wake them up! Now they have been moved into almonds for pollination. They will arrive back in Wisconsin about April 1st!

What’s the buzz? To find out what's happenin', you’ll need to listen to our sweet interview with Kent Pegorsch, founder of Waupaca's Dancing Bear Apiary. This is arguably our most educational program yet, because – while we know little about beekeeping, bees, and pollinators in general – we are smart enough to ask good questions.
Oh, and you'll want to hear how Bob Tevis, Mark Gerlach, Chuck Reynolds and Kent answer the Curiouser question of the week, which has to do with irrational fears. Hint, Chuck's answer has to do with where he was once stung...

The girls(and a few boys that the girls haven't shoved out before winter) are all gathered and we will be loading two semis today to head West. They are very healthy and I will see them in California in January.

Busy gathering our girls up from our 18 locations around the Waupaca area. Getting them all together so we can load them onto semis to send them to the bee spa in Idaho. There they will rest in complete darkness at 38° for two and a half months before the trip down to California for the almond pollination
