This little bundle of joy is weaned and ready to go, so if you just have to have a baby goat in your life she would be a great addition to your herd! She is electric fence trained, and I have pics of mom and dad if you’re interested DM me.

There has been a lot of talk about salmonella outbreaks. This some advice for those of us that are new to raising chickens:

1) Wear gloves and wash your hands
2) If you don’t wear gloves make sure you wash your hands.
3) Wear dedicated closed footwear, boots or shoes, no sandals.
4) Store your footwear outside or in a designated area that is separate from your everyday footwear.
5) Wear designated clothing.
6) Store your designated clothing separate from the rest of your clothing. Wash daily, or immediately wash any clothing that has any debris on it.
7) Keep the entrance to your living space clean and free of animal debris.

We have been getting ready for our Beginning Beekeeper Classes. They will be held on every other Saturday and Sunday in May. Who’s thinking about getting bees this season?Who’s interested in a beginning beekeeper class, taught by our resident beekeeper! $50.00 per class! We will cover the bee lifecycle, reading materials, how to lite a smoker, hive inspections and what to look for while inspecting the hive, where to buy bees, and more. If I do it on my property there we will do a live hive inspection together. We’re thinking mid May.
