Just got out my copy of The Oxford Companion of Beer. Was given to me by Garrett Oliver on one of his visits to the store. The inscription he wrote was Thanks for bringing real beer to the people. Garrett Oliver. So proud that I was a part of being able to bringing better beer to the Rochester area. Was with all the help from B.A's and Fcbaa that I was able learn what every one would like to see in the store. Now that Hegedorn's is closing I invite you all dig out one of the Unicorns you have stashed, raise your glass and offer a hearty Cheers! My thanks. David

Saw in Hegedorn,'s ad and news articles that the beers are going to be sold out at deep discount later this month. One last hurrah for the store that all beer fans supported for so long. I'm assuming that beer deliveries are soon or already have been curtailed. A Bill Gray's Taproom may be open in some of the building. Wife and I are going in for one last shop. I hope there will be some Dogfish Head 120 Minute I.P.A. still available!

The first Black Monday when I brought in Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout and the customers filled the aisle waiting in anticipation. Freaked out the CEO Gonzo and I had to calm him down!

Was just remembering when I arranged the first grocery store in Rochester beer sampling by having Rohrbach Brewing offer samples to customers. Had to have them get a permit to do it but all went well. All the years of bringing craft beer to the store and now the store is closing.Sad to see.I hope you enjoyed the fun.Thanks to all remember.Cheers! David🍺
