🤔 We keep getting the question, and rightly so: When will the farmstand open?

Short answer: We don’t know, it probably won’t happen this year.

Long answer: When we start getting berries they go out through orders, then when we have more berries than orders we open the farmstand, then close stand and finish out with orders. But this year, due to the extra cold winter, cold & VERY wet spring, it has created damage in the patches, including plant loss. It has knocked us back enough that we have just been keeping up with orders, so there hasn’t been any extra for the stand. At this point, it is looking like it probably won’t open…and the season will be shorter as well.

😩 Sorry about this, but we have heard we are not the only one dealing with strawberry loses this year.

🍓If you want berries from us this year, they will need to be ordered.

An important strawberry worker meeting this morning. They had to read and agree to ‘Gramps Strawberry Laws’. 📝

Some of their rules were:
* No fighting, kicking, biting, spiting and hair pulling. 😂
* No throwing strawberries or running and jumping in the patch. ‼️
* No whining, crying, complaining or sniveling - ever. 😉
* You must show up on time and be happy. 😁

We are happy to report they have agreed to all rules and signed the working terms. Training the 3rd generation of strawberry workers. 🍓

The plan is to open the farm stand sometime this week, but the ordering process is already underway. If you want to get some in larger quantities (only small quantities available at the stand) or to be sure to get them on certain days, ordering is what you need to do.

As always our strawberries (and all produce grown on the farm) is organically grown.

Many may not agree with this, but…

Working with family is the best part of living on a family farm!

Yes, it can also be the most frustrating part because you actually have to live with your coworkers if things don’t go well.

But here’s the deal— when I worked off the farm, I couldn’t take my kids with me to work. It wasn’t allowed.

Now they can be involved with whatever we have going on. And they can learn how to work hard and develop new skills in a supervised setting.

Being able to have them alongside as we grow this business is such a fun and special privilege!

If you are a customer and picking up farm orders today, we apologize for the horrible noise you will hear (and probably feel!) while here.
This event is literally shaking our house and rattling the windows. There are items on shelves rattling from the base turned up in this audio, hoping they don’t vibrate off!! It sounds like a train is about to come through the wall. Not feeling very understanding right now!

OH. MY. WORD! Do you see it?

It’s the 3rd week of May and the garlic scapes have already started. 😳 It seems they get earlier and earlier each year. Usually they come during strawberry season, and it’s hard to find the time to process them like I should. But I ran out of my (canned) garlic scape relish a couple months ago, so if they are early, I just might be able to get more accomplished.
