Hello everyone! We are getting ready to open for the season on Friday, May 1. In the meantime, we have several new additions to our petting zoo, born this spring...3 babies in all! They are growing too fast...moms are very caring and protective of their little treasures! We are just about in apple bloom. The trees are vibrant after the long cold winter. Our first fruit will be strawberries in early June, however, we are opening the store from May 1, introducing 2 new wines "Bluet Americain" (semi-dry natural blueberry) and "Moonlight Pear" (semi-sweet natural Asian pear), made from our Asian pears we picked literally in the moonlight! We will have our homemade ice cream and baked goods, and slushies ready then.
Also, May is our magical flower season, with lots of plants and hanging baskets. Til then, we are busy with all the prep and enjoying the spring weather. I will update again before we open. Have a wonderful spring!

Hi everyone! We are now in our winter season and our fruit picking season has come to a close. We have picked apples in store, namely Pink Lady, Sun Crisp, Wine Crisp, and Braeburn. Our store hours are Saturday and Sunday only, through Dec.21 (except Dec.6, which we will not be open to attend a conference). Additionally, we are not featuring Xmas trees this year as sales have diminished for live trees over the last several years. Nonetheless, we do have our winery open on weekends, and in-store items, including cider, honey, natural preserves & fruit butters, salsas, decoratives, candles, soaps, and a variety of local popcorn for popping.
We would like to extend our gratitude for your support this year, one of our best fruit seasons ever. We will open again in the spring, typically by May 1.
If you plan to come out, our hours on Dec. 7 is 11-5, Dec.13 & 20 are 10-6, Dec. 14 & 21, 11-5.
Have a wonderful holiday and winter season. See you in the spring!

The First Thanksgiving (Taken from Advertising Age article by Steve Black, 2024)

Thanksgiving, as we know it today, is rooted in a harvest feast celebrated by the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag in 1621. This marked a moment of giving thanks for a successful harvest after a tough year.
The Pilgrims, who had settled at Plymouth Rock, were ill-prepared for the harsh New England winter. They suffered from exposure, scurvy, and outbreaks of contagious disease, which ravaged the population, reducing the Mayflower's original 102 passengers to about 50.
The Wampanoag, a native American tribe, showed them essential survival skills, including how to grow corn, fish the rivers, and extract sap from maple trees. In gratitude, the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag shared a three-day feast. This event is often cited as the First Thanksgiving, although it wasn't called that at the time. President Abraham Lincoln declared it a national holiday in 1863.
Since then, Thanksgiving has evolved into a day where families and friends come together to share gratitude with meals, parades, and football games.
Let's not forget the true meaning of Thanksgiving, to truly be thankful for those who shared their bounty and teachings with others in need.
