Organic methods are used but the produce is not certified organic. Nunamaker Farms started out in 1979 as a small, part time beef cow operation on land that was once part of the Medford Farms. This developed into Nunamaker Simmentals which operated for about 20 years. Nutrients were imported onto the property each year via 750 pound round hay bales that were used to feed the cattle in the winter.

Beef was exported. Feeding hay in round bale feeders has about a 15% loss. This wasted hay and animal manure were composted and used on the vegetable garden each year. The gardening was totally organic and was maintained that way since its inception. The garden was just for family use at that time. In 2009 the beef cattle operation was phased out and the vegetable garden enlarged and vegetable sales on a limited scale began at the West Grove Farmers' Market in 2011. A small green house was added in the fall of 2011 and has been used for the production of bedding plants for the garden and for the market. The garden variety has steadily grown during this time along with support from the local community. Nunamaker Farms will contine to sell fresh fruits and vegetables in season.
