Golden Hills Apiary is based out of Riverside and ran by Jake Snider and Scott Flynn. For four years, they have been selling raw honey, creamed honey and bee based products like lip balms and beeswax wraps. Golden Hills Apiary only sells their products within a 100 mile radius of their hives, to ensure their customers are getting the most benefits from the honey. In Iowa, our main source of pollen is from trees. Purchasing your honey from producers within 100 miles ensures the honey contains the exact pollens present in your ecosystem, allowing your body to naturally build up a tolerance to local seasonal allergens. At Golden Hills Apiary, Jake and Scott do everything they can to keep their products as clean and chemical free as possible ensuring they are all natural. Jake decided to start attending the West Liberty Farmers Market this year because “I do a lot of other markets with Grimm’s Farm and enjoy selling with them, so I decided to try out this market with them.”
You can find Golden Hills Apiary and their all natural bee products downtown, at the West Liberty Farmers Market, every Wednesday from 4-7pm.
